PARLIAMENT SUCCESSFULLY REJECT 80 MILLION NATIONAL CATHEDRAL BUILDING BUDGET

Image
The Minority in Parliament has effectively constrained the public authority to pull out and redistribute the GHC 80 million dispensed in the 2023 financial plan for the development of the public church building to the Streets and Correspondences areas. Further, the said sum was totally taken out from the last allotment bill. MP for North Tongu, Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa who unveiled this in a Facebook post said this implies the public authority's 2023 consumption is, consequently, decreased by GHC 80 million. An individual from the minority, Yussif Sulemana, who kicked against the financial plan for the house of prayer, told columnists on Tuesday, December 20, 2022: "I can perceive you on power that by the day's end, we needed to cast a ballot and after the vote, the minority conveyed the day. We have casted a ballot against it, and we are saying that this isn't the most ideal time for us to burn through that colossal amount of cash on building a basilica....

Bayern Munich Target Yassine Bounou for Possible Transfer

Image
The goalkeeper carousel continues for Bayern Munich. A report from Spanish outlet Marca (via @iMiaSanMia) suggest that another star of the FIFA Men’s World Cup semi-finals, Morocco’s Yassine “Bono” Bounou, is now in their sights. With Croatia’s Dominik Livaković apparently not preferred, Marca suggests that it’s the Sevilla man who might get the move to Bavaria instead. Bono is 31, has a contract lasting through summer 2025 and a €50m release clause — and he’s first-choice for a club embroiled in this year’s relegation fight in La Liga. Would Sevilla really let him go? Maybe, but probably not for cheap! Staying in the Spanish top flight must be a considerable priority, and the Moroccan’s performances at the World Cup will have done nothing to lower his price. Why would Bayern be interested? Well, Marca reports that club CEO Oliver Kahn is “a fan” of the player. On the other hand, he’s several years older and several times more expensive than the Croatian keeper they’ve alre...

Gladbach striker Marcus Thuram addresses Bayern Munich rumorsrumors

Image
Marcu Thuram has been potentially linked with a move to Bayern Munich this summer, as the Rekordmeister have shown that they plan to make a big move for a prominent striker just one summer after losing Robert Lewandowski. Most notably, they have been linked with Tottenham Hotspur’s Harry Kane, though there are well-founded objections that Bayern will ultimately get priced out of a move for the England captain, and Thuram could prove to be a viable contingency plan should that happen. Thuram recently addressed the Bayern Munich links to French outlet L’Equipe (via @iMiaSanMia). For now, he’s not interested in thinking about what lies ahead for him after Borussia Monchengladbach. His current contract with Die Fohlen runs only through June 2023, though, and without discussions about a renewal at Gladbach, he’ll soon be free to negotiate with other clubs for his next contract. “Bayern is a very big club. But for me, I plan day to day. What use would it be for me to plan three y...

Image
The dollar finished Wednesday higher across the FX board following a volatile American session. The US Federal Reserve was responsible for the hawkish movement, as the central bank issued as expected, but Chairman Jerome Powell was surprised by the white speech. The central bank pulled the trigger by 75 basis points, and the accompanying statement suggested that policymakers would soon slow down QT. “In determining the pace of future increases to the target range, the Committee will take into account the cumulative tightening of monetary policy, the lags with which monetary policy affects economic activity and inflation, and economic and financial developments.” The greenback fell to fresh weekly lows relative to most major rivals as investors rushed to price in a 50 basis point rate hike in December.   However, comments from Chairman Jerome Powell brought dollar buyers back to life.
