Transfer update on Cristiano Ronaldo
Cristiano Ronaldo also popularly known as CR7 is one of the greatest footballers of all time. The Portuguese superstar has left a mark at almost every club he’s been to. From his boyhood club Sporting CP to Manchester United where he started showing his prowess to Real Madrid that unleashed the beast in him. He also played for Italian giants Juventus were he did great as expected. After his spell at Juventus,Cris decided to go back to Manchester United where his career actually lit up. His first season went well having finishing 3rd top scorer in the league at age 36 with 18 goals.
His second season at Manchester United wasn’t blissful as many thought it would be after new coach Erik Ten Hag was appointed,Ronaldo wasn’t used often by Ten Hag and things started getting intense until a Premier league game against Tottenham Hotspurs.
Ronaldo later on had an interview with a journalist called Pierce Morgan were he quoted he had no respect for the manager and criticized the board for low investment. This explosive interview got him sacked from the club leaving him without a team and is now searching for one. There are a few clubs still interested in the 37 year old man.
Chelsea was Ronaldo's most likely destination in the summer transfer window, with owner Todd Boehly having been keen to sign the superstar. Thomas Tuchel torpedoed any deal then, though things may be different under Graham Potter.
Germany is one of the two big European leagues that Ronaldo is yet to play in. Bayern Munich are the only team that could afford to take him on and with Sadio Mane injured, they may look to bring in a new attacker.
Bayern will be able to offer him a real shot at winning another Champions League trophy, as well as almost certainly landing him a Bundesliga title. Again, Julian Nagelsmann's style of play may be a roadblock to any move for Portugal's captain.
